Schieder Museum Installation - Hypertext Hotel VR
The Hypertext Hotel is a VR installation piece that toured from The Schneider Museum in Ashland, Oregon, to Brown University, Rhode Island from January 24-June 14 of 2019. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The project revolved around exploring a plethora of strange rooms, all narrated in vivid description by the content's original progenitor and post-modern novelist Robert Coover.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This project dates back to the initial stirrings of digital hypertext fiction. This most recent iteration is spearheaded by Professor Arellano, a pupil of Robert Coover. Ever staying with the technology of the time, this version of the hotel is iterated using VR with the Unreal Engine. The project was conceptualizes, designed, produced, and installed by a colleague Andrew Masek and myself.
